On wednesday januari 12 2012 Hans van der Bruggen, the chairman and founder of the Dutch Cold War Assosiation KOVOM died in the age of 63 years. A great loss for the Dutch Cold War soldiers. www.kovom.net/ |

On saturday march 31 2012 the Dutch Cold War Association KOVOM (Koude Oorlog Veteranen en Oud Militairen = Cold War Veterans and Former Military) gathered for the 8th Cold War Medal Day at military base Schaarsbergen in the Netherlands. Schaarsbergen is near Arnhem (WWII Operation Market Garden >> movie "A bridge too far"). KOVOM was founded in 2008 by Chairman and founder MA Mr. Hans van der Bruggen and has now more than 1000 members. Hans van der Bruggen died on january 12 2012 of heart faillure, see posting above. On this special day Mrs. van der Bruggen received posthumously the golden Cold War Remembrance Medal.
