MISSION. The 2nd Annual Southeast Asian Remembrance Ceremony honors all U.S., Vietnamese and French Forces that fought global Communism in Southeast Asia, 1945-1975. The wreath laying is our way to say "thank you" to all ARVN, Vietnamese tribal forces, U.S., French, French Union and Foreign Legionnaires who served in Southeast Asia (as well as SEATO forces that participated as well). Cold War Victory Day (1 May) will be honored as well.
CEREMONY. Ceremony will commence at exactly 5:00 p.m. (1700) and end at 6:00 p.m. (1800). Please note: there will be no speakers, no politicians, no microphones. We wish to keep this ceremony solemn and short. The wreath laying will represent the three major armed forces that fought in Vietnam: The Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN), the United States (USA) and Republic of France. Two short prayers offered. All ranks will execute a "present arms" while the wreath is presented. 2 minutes of silence. Photos afterwards. Veterans, family members and civilians are encouraged to attend. Join us afterward for dinner and drinks at a local Vietnamese restaurant (each to pay his own way).
NOTE: We wish to continue this tradition each year; feel free to join us for next year's event as well!
