Good morning all,
Under the auspices of "talk about anything......", and yesterday, having posted a note on my Cold War Certificate of Recognition, ... I got it having forgot I had a civil service job heavily involved in the Cold War........
Something else I forgot about returned to my conscious self.
I once was a volunteer at a VARO processing veterans' claims - and other stuff - eg dealing w/ Service boards for the correction of military records -.
In this volunteer job I learned about many episodes of the Cold War that doesn't show up in the history books.
I mention this civilian volunteer work because I consider it a contribution to the "war" effort. Here, being the Cold War. It's akin to packaging bandages or running a blood bank for the troops.
Once, even received a "thank you" note from someone I helped. This was a rare event !
Warm regards,
Bob
