Beautiful plane and a fitting resting place for an old vet. There's a few still around one in the Canadian War Museum and a couple as gate guards, including one I've passed many times here in Toronto in front of Dennison Armouries

I could have sworn there was a CF -5 at the "new" Canadian War Museum, but I just went through the 400 odd pictures I took during my 2 recent visits and nothing. If there's one there I must have missed it. They do have its Cold War partner in crime the CF 101 Voodoo. As the original article notes the CF 5 was used for training and ground attack and recce and 2 squadrons were to be sent to Norway if the balloon went up. The Voodoos were for defending Canadian and American airspace against the expected hordes of Soviet bombers. Both these aircraft and the CF-104 Starfighters (based in West Germany for the most part) were all replaced by the CF 18s
