Hello all,
I have been away for several months due to family emergencies / exigencies but am now back. My thanks to Bob Warren, our Cold War VP who has kept the ship afloat in my absence. I was so damn busy at times, I simply became mired in all manner of things so that Cold War issues had to take a back seat. I am behind in most correspondence, so I will certainly get back to everyone's posts this week and next.
First, I posted a link to our site on Facebook this morning to generate interest in the Cold War. This should yeild at least 5-10 forum members. We hope to keep a monthly post on FB to keep building the forum from within.
Second, our thanks again to Bob, for his superb posts about Cold War history, from the perspective of a man who lived through that period. Bob ---> we are appreciative! Keep those posts coming.
Third, we will begin coordinating the AFCWA Board of Directors FY2012-2013 in order to begin building the organization. Watch this space!!!!! We will be growing.
Regards, Mick Stewart AFCWA

Gents,
We will begin filling out the AFCWA Board of Directors over the next 2-3 months in order to get the group off the ground. We've been static since 2005 (thats roughly 7 years) so I will be working closely with Bob to approve our goals for FY 2012-2013, establish liasons with Tony and the Dutch Cold War veterans and see if we can plan a CW visit to the Netherlands in the future (Tony, any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated).
I am also in touch with Scott L'cuyer with the American Cold War Veterans (ACWV). Scott has been extremely helpful in keeping me apprised of legislative minutae in our nations capital. The CW Victory Medal is still stalled in the NDC committee.
Regards, Mick

I hope you come up with a few people and not entirely America; that would quiet be an invasion (just kidding). Then we can communicate via email. That is in my opinion the best. I have no secrets but some things the world doesn't need to know. And some things do not belong in a forum. If all goes well you have my email address. You've already been to the Netherlands and so you know that they all up here are a bit a crazy, nuts, lunatic or whatelse. ;D This one's from my favorite Dutch band "Golden Earring". Perhaps you know them from "Radar Love" (1973) "Twilight Zone" and "When The Lady Smiles" from the 80's. This song is from 1986 (the Cold war was still going on): www.youtube.com/watch?v=35hGt19oNScLead vocals starts with my name.... "Tony , my head's on a pillow.....Tony, it's looking into your Quiet eyes, silent tears...." Greetzzz, Tony
